Snowline Celebrates 60 Years of Precision American Manufacturing and Innovation
2026 officially marks 60 years of quality manufacturing solutions developed here at Snowline Engineering!
What better time to take a look back at our six-decade journey…from our humble beginnings as an up-and-coming job shop in
1966, eventually evolving into one of California’s premier aerospace fabrication and machining companies today.
Check out our new blog for a quick trip down memory lane as we reminisce about the Snowline Engineering story, and the philosophy that drives our company.
Quality California-Based Manufacturing for Specialized Industries Since 1966
Snowline Engineering got its start as a specialized job shop, primarily focusing on manufacturing industrial components for the oil and gas sector, as well as medical equipment parts. These unique, high-precision industries laid the foundation for uncompromising quality and meticulous process control that would later help our company become one of California’s leading aerospace manufacturers.
For the next 30 years, Snowline honed both its reputation and capabilities as one of the West Coast’s most reliable fabrication companies producing complex industrial and medical components. That created the perfect platform to expand into the modern aerospace market, springboarding the company to where it is today.
From a Job Shop Based in a Barn to a Leading Aerospace Manufacturer
For the first few decades, Snowline operated as a traditional job shop. It was a nimble, uniquely skilled operation driven by talented machinists, welders, and engineers, all committed to delivering the highest quality workmanship possible. Those first 30 years built a sturdy foundation for significant growth, which was realized when Cal Reynolds took over leadership of the company in 1998.
Despite the extremely sophisticated products and high-precision tolerances that Snowline was known for, at the time the company still operated out of what was technically a two-car garage and horse barn. Only eight years after Mr. Reynolds took over in 2006, Snowline had expanded so much that operations moved into a 34,000 sq.-ft. facility.
Tracking with the company’s success, 2013 saw another significant expansion, acquiring a second state-of-the-art facility with 40,000 sq.-ft. of production space. Now in 2026, the company is expanding into a third facility, keeping pace with the burgeoning American aerospace and defense industry.
The Snowline team is what defines our company. It’s the people who truly set us apart from the competition. Building on the company’s early success, we’ve spent the last 27 years putting together a fantastic team of folks who continue to achieve amazing results for every project we take on.
